William Hector (pictured right) is a Miami-born playwright, novelist and producer, whose works cover crime, comedy, the afterlife, ancient Greece, and Kipling backpacks.

William graduated from the University of Miami with dual degrees in Politics, Philosophy & Economics, and in Playwriting, was one of four playwrights chosen to participate in Miami Dade County's Playwright Development Program, and was awarded a Knight Foundation New Work Miami grant to write, produce, and stage G7: 2070, a new immersive play.

William is the founder and Artistic Director of the Coconut Grove Theatre Festival, which returns April 16-19, 2026, bringing new theatrical works by South Florida creatives to life in the heart of the Grove!

William believes his writing should be like this web design: clean, to the point, and include at least one dog.
