Who is William Hector? Who was that Dog?
William Hector is a Miami-born playwright, novelist and the founder and Artistic Director of the Coconut Grove Theatre Festival: an annual festival of new play readings by South Florida creatives. Graduating from the University of Miami with dual degrees in Politics, Philosophy & Economics, and in Playwriting, William was one of four playwrights chosen to participate in Miami Dade County's Playwright Development Program, and was awarded a Knight Foundation New Work Miami grant to write, produce and stage G7: 2070: An Immersive Theatrical Summit. Past work has included Unbound at the Camino Real Playhouse in San Juan Capistrano ShowOff! International Playwrighting Festival, as well as performances of his plays Sheol, Draco, The Monster with 21 Faces and The Kipling Backpack Thief in collaboration with partners including The Playwrights Center, Meetinghouse Miami, and the MDC Department of Cultural Affairs. He has also worked on collaborative productions in partnership with fellow writers with The Deering Estate and WLRN. Mr. Hector is a member of the Dramatist’s Guild.

That dog was and still is Lulu. In the past she has collaborated with several dogs, and currently is in a cross-cultural residency program with two cats.
